I've been trying to try new things when making layouts for DND. As I'm not the DM I can't premake or get things ready before hand - very often! On occasion the current DM will ask me if I can make "XYZ" by Saturday and I always rise to the bet and bite off more than I can usually chew! When that happens I will often recruit my really good friend Faded (who I pulled down into 3D printing obsession. Sorry!)
The top 3 are segments that Faded help me make. Basically we were on a time crunch because we were fast coming up on the ending of "Tome of Annihilation." I had seen a ton of tutorials for using insulation foam so I got a ton and gave it a go. Uh. I should've gone thinner! I ALSO forgot that certain glues would...well melt this stuff. However...when working with slime and ooze left behind by the beasts of the world - that worked in my favor!
Now, I'm really really proud of these next photos. Our current DM asked me if I could make something - more or less in the span of 3.5 days. He told me roughly what he wanted and I kinda took it from there. Faded helped by printing out the door and the chair/platform. And my husband helped by chipping away at the cork columns I had made. I used a wood detailing tool to cut and add all the details to the stairs and floors. You can see in some photos I didnt bother painting or etching the bottom!
The dragon is a friend of ours from a past one shot. The big boy facing off with him is my current character Jötunn. He's this large because he's a Rune Knight that can enlarge himself by 1 size up. And our Wizard can then cast enlarge on me AGAIN and move me up another size. Shenanigans. Pure, sweet, beautiful shenanigans.
