I might as well add in the art from when I first started! Nothing like seeing all the cringy things you made when you were younger, or the progress you've made over the years! (Yes, that is in fact me in that mirror. See? Cringe!)
This is all things I made prior to my move to NC.
I want to add a blanket statement: Back when I was first starting out I used a lot of references. I sadly, no longer know who or where those reference are. But I have never, and will never trace anything I draw. While a lot of people say using references is fine, I didn't know what type of references to use or how to do it properly. As such, I've given myself a bit of a handicap. I can draw nearly anything I put my eyes on, but that means I lack the skill to properly build anything of my own.
I still have this one! This is the very first oil painting I ever did. Back then I suffered from Really bad Migraines so I couldn't handle Oil paints. But now that things are better - and I've learned some things. I want to try again.
This one is currently on my wall as well. It's not the best. But it was the result of my teacher spending extra time with me. To me this is a symbol of where I started.
I believe this was how the previous painting started. It was repainted over top of this when I just...wasn't digging it.
I never did end up finishing this one. You can see it has similarities to the previous two paintings. Back then I wasn't sure about myself. But looking back, there were clues.
I made a few of these, all pretty similar, all during a time of...well...mental change and challanges. This one..I feel is based off a character in WOW or a random short story I had made. It's been too long for me to fully remember.
I'm pretty sure this spawned around the same time I started playing wow in 2010. Hilarious because I most def did not play a fire mage, or a mage of any type.
This was a two part painting. It's hard to see but I'm pretty sure I tried to add some extra texture into the paint.
This one never got finished. But even back then...well. The world was always suffering and burning. And what can some do but paint it?
This I believe was the first "symbol" type painting I ever made. Guess it was what started the little series. However they thankfully evolved for the better!
I'm a little sad I no longer have this one. I gave it away to someone I no longer talk to. I painted it on a very thick canvas and I layered the paint on THICK. So it came out a very blood red. Very fitting for the Horde from WOW.
Bleach
Now to the sketching I did during HS. I was hugely into Anima/Manga through most of my HS and College years so I did a lot of sketches from what I enjoyed or was reading at the time.
Naruto
These next few are all of Naruto. I was...*really* into it back then.
Temari was actually my first cosplay! I used to be able to get my hair up in four little puffs and make it look like hers.
Second cosplay was of course Sasuke. I still have his costume too. Not sure if I can still fit in it anymore. But maybe I'll remake him.
I couldn't for the life of me get their faces right so I never finished this one. I'm still proud of how well the body movement shows despite me knowing nothing about anatomy
Blaze Blue!
This is actually the game that sent me down the road of drawing so much honestly. I still am really proud of these as they were my literal first! The one to the right was a decent attempt but I didn't have the skills to complete it and I likely never will.
These are both referenced from I *think* their official art book?
Random OCs
Yea these are pretty cringy I won't lie. But ah I was a teenager and full of emo angst.
I feel like I need to explain that hand drawing on the left over there. So it was a double whammy of me wanting to practice hands but it was also....in reference to a book/story I was trying to write towards the end of my HS time when I started developing my own identity and image. It is VERY MUCH as cringe as you're feeling right now.
And here I am. Letting you enjoy the cringe.
On the right is..also as cringe as you can get being a undiagnosed mess of a teen.
Ok back in my early days of College I took a photoshop class. This first one is for Vocaloid. I really don't remember much about this but well. You can make your own judgements here.
Next we have a DVD cover I had to make for the Photoshop class. Yea this was WELL before Naruto ending but at a time where people were speculating on if the ending would have a final showdown between Naruto and Sasuke.
Back in HS I was honestly a teacher's pet. Especially for my history Teacher (small ass Christian School. HS had a total of 50ish kids.)
Anyway, he let us get creative with our projects. I didn't take a whole lot of photos back then sadly. But apparently saved this one.
This was a drawing for my College art class. We were tasked to fill a sketch book with all of our practice drawings and turn it in to be graded. We were supposed to get them back at the end, but I waited too long to pick mine back up and it got lost when the new Art building was made.
I am pretty confident that this was supposed to be a MTG card? It was back when I was first introduced and I wanted to see if I could draw the card myself. Not bad for a Beginner! This one might still be in an old portfolio. But there's also a good chance I didn't keep any of my old stuff and only photos remain.
